Covers Most Outdoor Surfaces
20in Wood Structural Panels
A beautiful and functional solution to cover most outdoor surfaces. The structural integrity of this quality wood will span joist systems up to approximately 20 inches. A variety of Pedestal Systems can be used in conjunction with the panels elevating them and allowing them to be used over uneven surfaces.
Widely used in commercial exterior construction Ipe has recently become a popular choice for residential decks due to its low maintenance, attractive color, and extremely hard surface.
The 20″ Structural Panels are available in a smooth finish and these high-quality panels, constructed with stainless steel screws, add natural beauty to your residential or commercial project.
Ipe wood does not require a sealer coat as its natural density prevents water absorption. Deck treatments may be desired if you wish to maintain the rich deep color of the wood.
Ipe wood will age a silver patina if left untreated.
NOW INTRODUCING SNAPJACK
Elevated Interlocking Corner Connectors
The most innovative and one of a kind solutions for connecting Wood Structural Panels over roof decks, concrete balconies, existing wood decks, patios and a multiude of other surfaces.
Snapjack’s unique design elevates the structural panels 1/2″ to provide proper drainage while interlocking together adjacent panels. The panels may be connected to the Snapjack with a plastic plug to provide proper spacing and prevent lateral movement. If desired, the Snapjack can be screwed to the panels. Also a screw and washer system may be used to reduce any chance of wind uplift.
Ipe decks should be regularly kept clean of dirt and debris. Sweep leaves off the deck, don’t let rusting items sit on the wood, and hose off mud or spills. You can use a hose to safely clean off your deck but be careful when using a power washer.
Ipe wood does not require a sealer coat as its natural density prevents water absorption. Deck treatments may be desired, we recommend using Penofin Oil (www.penofin.com) if you wish to maintain the rich deep color of the wood.
If Ipe deck tiles are not oiled, you may experience, in rare instances, what appears as water stains on the butt ends of the slats after heavy rain. This is caused by end sealing wax, which is applied to the butt ends of the slats by the Wood Mill Company, to prevent the wood from checking (wood cracks). This condition is temporary and will eventually fade away as the wood ages to a silver patina.
At times, It is possible that you may experience some wax that is used to seal the butt ends of the wood slats, appearing on the slat surface. This may resemble a water stain. Rest assured, it will dissipate.
